Nick Tavoukjian
Nick Tavoukjian is an O2X On-Site Human Performance Specialist specializing in injury prevention as an Athletic Trainer with the Santa Ana Police Department. In this role, he works to optimize the health, performance, and operational readiness of tactical professionals through a comprehensive continuum of care--from reducing risk of injury and illness, to acute care, rehabilitation, reconditioning, and performance training. Drawing on extensive experience in post-conflict rehabilitation, Nick previously supported combat-wounded, injured, and ill U.S. Marines at Wounded Warrior Battalion-West (Camp Pendleton) in their journeys to successfully return to duty or transition to civilian life.
He has also served as an adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University, teaching in both their graduate athletic training and undergraduate kinesiology programs. Nick is a PhD candidate in Rehabilitation and Movement Science at Azusa Pacific University, and is committed to contributing to his field through research impacting the health and wellness of recovering service members. In parallel, he has served as a non-profit executive and educator, with a mission to contribute to the sustainable development of rehabilitation and sports medicine in the Republic of Armenia and surrounding regions. Through this work, he has gained invaluable experience in rehabilitation during and after armed conflict and health system strengthening, including coordinating projects and providing trauma-informed care for the war-wounded, refugees, children with disabilities, and others.
Nick holds a Master of Science in Athletic Training from Azusa Pacific University and a Bachelor of Arts in International and Middle East Studies. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F).
