
Matt Poland
Matt Poland is an O2X On-Site Human Performance Specialist specializing in Nutrition with the Pueblo Police Department. He is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS) who is passionate about helping tactical professionals and athletes reach their fullest potential. Matt uses evidence-based nutrition strategies combined with motivational interviewing techniques to develop individualized plans that enhance performance, resilience, and long-term health.
Prior to joining O2X, Matt gained extensive experience across clinical and athletic performance settings. He has worked in private practice with a focus on sports performance and eating disorders, as well as within multiple Division I athletics programs. Most recently, he served at the University of Kansas from 2022 to 2024, supporting a wide range of athletes, including Olympic qualifiers. His academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and a Master’s in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in Sports Nutrition from Florida State University.
Originally from Maryland, Matt now resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time in the mountains through backpacking, trail running, mountain biking, and hiking with his two dogs. He has also recently taken up guitar and woodworking, reflecting his commitment to continual growth and curiosity both personally and professionally.
