
Matt Cady
Matt Cady brings over 20 years of experience in human performance and strength and conditioning. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Health and Sports Studies from Miami University, where he also competed as a Division I college hockey player. During his time there, he served as a graduate assistant in the athletic strength and conditioning department while completing his Master of Science in Exercise Science/Kinesiology.
Matt is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and holds additional certifications through USA Weightlifting, Precision Nutrition, and Functional Movement Screening (FMS). His professional background includes working with Division I athletes at Miami University, serving as a tactical human performance specialist with the 7th Special Forces Group, and training youth, collegiate, and professional athletes in the private sector. Since 2016, he has also contributed as a subject matter expert in strength and conditioning for O2X.
Currently, Matt serves as a firefighter/EMT with the Van Buren Township Fire Department, where he is also a rescue diver on the Search and Recovery Dive Team. In addition, he works with the Fire Academy at Schoolcraft College, helping train future firefighters for the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and preparing them for careers in the fire service.
Matt lives in Michigan with his wife, their two sons, and their dog.
