McKayla Stoneback serves as the Staffing and Travel Coordinator for O2X Human Performance, where she oversees staffing logistics and coordinates travel operations for company workshops, events, and nationwide engagements. In her role, McKayla works closely with internal teams, specialists, and partners to ensure efficient scheduling, travel coordination, and operational support across O2X programming. Drawing from her extensive background in tactical human performance and field operations, she brings a unique perspective to supporting both the people and logistical systems that drive successful program execution.
McKayla was O2X’s first embedded On-Site Specialist, joining the company in 2019 in support of Frederick County Fire and Rescue Services in Frederick, Maryland. Over the course of her career, she has spent more than nine years working within the tactical population, specializing in movement screenings, prehabilitation programming, tactical strength and conditioning, and comprehensive health and wellness initiatives for career fire departments. Prior to transitioning into her current role with O2X HQ, McKayla worked directly with tactical athletes to improve readiness, durability, and long-term performance outcomes. Her background in human performance began on the athletic side, where she worked with athletes of varying ages and competitive levels before expanding her focus into the tactical field. While completing her graduate education, McKayla conducted research focused on the relationship between the physical demands of firefighting and the fitness qualities required for operational performance, with her work ultimately being published.
McKayla earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition before completing her Master of Science in Kinesiology and Outdoor Recreation: Sports Performance & Conditioning from Southern Utah University. In addition to her academic background, she is a certified Pregnancy & Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist and Athleticism Coach. Outside of work, McKayla enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors, and staying active alongside her husband, who serves as a career firefighter with the Saint Paul Fire Department. Together with their two young children, they enjoy activities including fishing, camping, hiking, hunting, and fitness.
