
Joe McCullough
Joe McCullough serves as the Manager of Marketing at O2X Human Performance, where he oversees the planning, development, and execution of the company’s marketing initiatives and brand strategy. In his role, Joe manages a wide range of content and communication efforts, including social media campaigns, email marketing, public relations, the O2X Human Performance Podcast, and the company’s blog and digital storytelling initiatives. His work plays an important role in advancing O2X’s mission, educating audiences on the value of human performance, and strengthening engagement across tactical, military, public safety, and high-performance communities. Through both strategic planning and creative execution, Joe helps communicate the impact of O2X’s programs, people, and mission nationwide.
Before joining O2X, Joe attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy after receiving a conditional appointment and completing a preparatory program at the New Mexico Military Institute. While at Kings Point, he was involved in leadership and extracurricular initiatives, serving as a 3/C Petty Officer to the Regimental Commander, sailing as a cadet aboard the S.S. Horizon Pacific, and helping found the Kings Point Endurance Club. In June 2016, Joe sustained a cervical spinal cord injury that initially left him quadriplegic. Following months of intensive rehabilitation and therapy, he regained significant function and independence through relentless determination, resilience, and adaptability. His experiences overcoming adversity continue to shape both his personal perspective and professional approach. Joe’s background in the Maritime Logistics and Security Program, combined with the leadership and problem-solving skills developed during his recovery journey, laid the foundation for his career growth at O2X. Since joining the organization, he has held multiple roles including Operations Coordinator and Experience Coordinator before transitioning into his current position leading marketing initiatives.
Outside of work, Joe remains passionate about personal growth, resilience, and inspiring others through his journey of recovery and perseverance. His experiences have given him a unique perspective on adaptability, mental toughness, and the importance of community support. Through both his professional contributions and personal story, Joe continues to embody the values of resilience, purpose, and continuous improvement that are central to the O2X mission.
