Blair Venables
Blair is an O2X Mental Performance Specialist. Blair is passionate about empowering people to take control over their own performances, development, and learning ways to thrive. She has worked for over a decade applying her knowledge and expertise in Sport and Performance Psychology in her work with athletes, adaptive athletes, medical professionals, first responders, law enforcement, the US State Department, and the US Army. Her career began with the Army Resilience Directorate’s Ready and Resilient (R2) Program, where she trained thousands of Soldiers in psychological skills that enhance resilience and performance. She is currently a Cognitive Performance Specialist with Special Operations. As part of a family with numerous Nurses, Firefighters, and Service Members, Blair has seen first-hand the effects of high risk occupations on individuals and their families, and loves being able to help those who serve live happier, healthier lives. Blair grew up in Florida, and spent most of her life in the water. She was a competitive swimmer and US Swimming certified coach for over 20 years, a Beach Patrol lifeguard, and competed in the US Lifesaving Association Lifeguard National Championships and various open-water competitions. Her next goal is to complete the Change Your Latitude open-water swim, the northernmost ocean swim, in Sitka, Alaska. Blair earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and her Masters of Science in Educational Psychology (specialization in Sport and Performance Psychology) from Florida State University. Outside of work, Blair loves to travel to new places, explore her home city of Raleigh, NC, attend as many concerts as she can, and read.
