Hemet (CA) Fire Department Learning to Fight Mental and Physical Stressors

O2X Human Performance to deliver workshop on performance optimization

Hemet, CA – From November 7th-9th, the Hemet Fire Department will host a three-day human performance workshop. The event will be led by O2X Human Performance, a training and education company that works primarily with tactical populations to optimize performance and increase career longevity.

Firefighters and other first responders face extraordinary challenges daily, leading to compounding stress over a 20+ year career. During the workshop, Hemet firefighters will learn ways to manage the chronic stress that comes with a career in public safety. This training will help attendees mitigate the impact of mental and physical strain that can lead to behavioral health issues, fatigue, & burnout.

“As a Fire Chief and President of the California State Firefighters Association, I’m so proud to help support the upcoming O2X Wellness Workshop in the City of Hemet. I have seen firefighters during and post O2X Wellness Workshops, and they are all impacted in a positive, life changing way. The Hemet Fire Department is honored to host this upcoming workshop, November 7-9, for our members, and our neighboring firefighters.” – Hemet Fire Chief Eddie Sell

Over the course of three days, participants will learn how small, incremental changes can lead to sustainable performance and lifestyle improvements. Topics covered will include strategies to mitigate the risk of injury, tools to enhance performance under pressure and manage high stress jobs, and education on proper nutrition, sleep hygiene, and foundations of movement – all designed specifically to meet the unique training needs of firefighters.

“We’re excited to bring our program to first responders in the great state of California,” said Paul McCullough, Co-founder at O2X Human Performance. “When those serving in public safety step onto the job, they are signing up for a long and stressful career. It’s critical they learn techniques to manage that stress in healthy ways. We’re confident our curriculum will assist in enhancing the careers of those who bravely serve the Hemet community.”

O2X Human Performance has successfully trained thousands of first responders and collaborated with hundreds of public safety agencies nationwide to provide state-of-the-art training and education aimed specifically at helping first responders finish their careers as strong as they started. The workshop will be held from 8am – 4pm at 300 East Latham Avenue, Hemet, CA.
