FirstNet®, Built with AT&T Brings Health & Wellness Training To Cincinnati Police Department

O2X Human Performance to provide 2-day workshop for public safety officials

Cincinnati, OHFirstNet®, Built with AT&T and O2X Human Performance are collaborating to support the health and wellness of first responders nationwide. In a series of multiple workshops to take place across America, the Cincinnati Police Department will host the next training evolution on October 18th and 19th. This 2-day training workshop brings a customized training curriculum to first responders and is aimed at optimizing performance and increasing career longevity.

Law enforcement officers and other first responders face extraordinary challenges daily, leading to compounding stress over a 20+ year career. The curriculum provided at the workshop will aim to mitigate the impact of both mental and physical strain that can lead to behavioral health issues, fatigue, and burnout. O2X has successfully collaborated with hundreds of public safety agencies nationwide to provide state-of-the-art training and education aimed specifically at helping first responders finish their careers as strong as they started.

“The health and wellness of officers and employees in the Cincinnati Police Department continues to rank as one of our top priorities. Ensuring our staff has all available resources to meet the physical and mental demands of policing is paramount to this important endeavor.” said Colonel Teresa Theetge, Cincinnati Police Chief. “Hosting the O2X workshop through the sponsorship of FirstNet is yet another step CPD is taking to make sure our officers have the tools and information to stay healthy and continue providing the best service possible to our communities.”

Over the course of two days, participants will learn how small, incremental changes can lead to sustainable performance and lifestyle improvements. The topics covered include strategies to mitigate the risk of injury, tools to enhance performance under pressure and manage high stress jobs, and education on proper nutrition, sleep hygiene, and foundations of movement – all designed specifically to meet unique training needs of first responders.

“Our first responders put their lives on the line every day to protect our community and we take their health and wellness seriously,” said Dr. Anna Fitch Courie, DPN, RN, PHNA-BC, Director, Responder Wellness, FirstNet Program at AT&T. “This program has proven successful and we’re hoping our collaboration will allow more first responders to feel equipped both mentally and physically to handle their jobs.”

This training program reinforces the strategic priorities established by the FirstNet Health and Wellness Coalition (FNHWC) to support first responders and their families. FNHWC’s mission is to integrate responder, community, industry, and academic capabilities to support the health, wellness, and readiness of American first responders.

“We’re excited to continue our relationship with FirstNet, Built with AT&T in Cincinnati (OH),” said Paul McCullough, Co-founder at O2X Human Performance. “Ensuring first responders prioritize their physical health and mental well-being is crucial for meeting the demands of their job effectively. This workshop will establish a solid foundation, empowering participants to further develop and excel in their roles.”

The workshop will be held at 800 Evans St, Cincinnati, OH from 8am to 4pm daily.
