O2X Human Performance to provide training and education for local fire fighters with workshop sponsored by MSA Safety

Cincinnati, OH – On October 16, over 50 members of the Cincinnati Fire Fighters Union Local 48 will participate in a one-day wellness, safety and performance training workshop sponsored by MSA Safety.

The workshop will be run by O2X Human Performance, a training and education company founded by former Navy SEALs. As tactical athletes, fire fighters risk their lives daily to keep their communities safe. They endure physical, and more importantly, mental stress throughout their careers and as a result, it’s become critical that they train their bodies properly to stay healthy, but also maintain their mental health.

During the session, fire fighters will learn about nutrition, conditioning, sleep, stress management and resilience training from O2X’s team that includes U.S. Special Operations veterans, strength and conditioning specialists, yoga teachers, mental performance experts, PhDs in nutrition and psychology, as well as sleep scientists.

“Our fire personnel put their lives on the line every day to protect our community and we take their overall health – physical and mental – seriously,” said Matt Alter, President at Cincinnati Fire Fighters Union Local 48. “It is our hope that the fire fighters participating in this training will walk away equipped with tools for wellness and performance, and higher level of readiness for their jobs.”

O2X Human Performance has successfully worked with hundreds of public safety agencies nationwide to provide innovative training and education aimed to help first responders finish their careers as strong as they started.

“We’re proud to partner with O2X to deliver a workshop that will help improve the lives of the brave fire fighters in Cincinnati,” said Jason Traynor, General Manager, Global Respiratory Protection and Fire Helmets at MSA. “MSA’s mission has always been about protecting the health and safety of workers, and the products we develop address the protective equipment aspects of that mission. But our partnership with O2X is more about habits, practices and overall firefighter health, and what we, as a leading safety equipment manufacturer, can do to support the industry’s growing focus and awareness of this important issue.”

The training will take place at the Cincinnati Fire Fighters Local 48 Union Hall: 1011 W Eighth St, Cincinnati, OH 45203.
